A microchip is a small implant that is inserted under the skin along the back of your pet. It contains a unique barcode number that is stored on a central database containing your Tracer identity chipcontact details.

When stray or stolen pets are found and taken to a vet, the police or a rescue centre, they will be scanned for a microchip. Using the microchip details, you will be contacted and reunited with your pet.

From April 2016 it will be compulsory for all dogs to be microchipped. If your pet has not been microchipped yet then why not give the nurses a ring and they can arrange to do that at one of their regular clinics.
